Are you a singer? Just maybe you can teach others and create an income doing what you love!

If you are a singer, or just enjoy it and sing to some degree, perhaps you can create your own business teaching singing! There are many things you can do, from teaching lessons to creating a singing instructional video, to creating a book or CD or DVD teaching other people how to sing. I once knew a very mediocre singer in Hollywood who made a GREAT living (actually, a small fortune) giving private singing lessons and selling the book he wrote on the subject. He had a lousy voice, but he knew how to phrase and to “sell a song”, so many of his students were professional singers who could sing circles around him, but didn’t know how to phrase a song and get the “juice” out of a song. He was hugely popular in Hollywood and in great demand. So even if you don’t have the greatest voice in the world, maybe there is some aspect of singing that you could specialize in, such as “How to overcome stage fright when you sing”, or “How to increase your range”, or “Speed sight-reading for singers”, or “How to get great breath control”, or “How to make your singing so distinctive that nobody cares what your voice sounds like!” You get the idea. Let's say you already play or sing in a band or group of some kind. Start by handing out a few business cards at your performances offering to teach the songs you sing during your performance. You will be surprised how many people there are who would love to be able to sing like you do, or at least to sing the songs you sing!

You don't need a fancy building or anything like that -- I started by going to people's homes and teaching them there. But then I graduated to having my own studio, which was simply a separate building about 30 feet from my home. Not a long commute to work! You can even start in your own living room -- many people would be delighted to come hear you sing and teach them what you know about singing – especially if it was a specialized area such as we discussed above.

Create your own singing info-product!

After you get your teaching program going, then write down some of the things you teach in your lessons. Maybe it would be as simple as a singing chart, or a way you have of getting behind the beat in a song, or anything that you know about singing that most other people don't. You can take what you've written down to your local printer and have him print up a few copies for you, and offer them for sale at your singing performances. Or perhaps you could make a CD or a video or a DVD -- the sky is the limit! "But how do I promote my product after I make it?" Good question, and that's exactly why you should click on the link below, because I have been through all that and can guide you step by step on your way!
